Krysten Ritter is worth staying up late for

I've loved Krysten Ritter for some time now, long before everyone else decided that they were down with the saucy brunette. Now that her show, "AKA Jessica Jones" is bringing in awards (everything from a Webby to a Peabody) to go with its critical accolades, Ritter is starting to feel brave enough to take on the blatant sexism that Marvel has in allowing their female characters to be tough and showcase their bravery. While on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," Krysten talked about being the first female Marvel superhero to get her own TV show, including touching on the realism of her super powers, while also discussing her youth as a farm kid who grew up feeding cows in rural Pennsylvania. Who would have known she'd be the kind of chick who could bounce from quippy comedy to kicking ass and romancing the brothers to demanding more superhero toys for girls AND have a background in livestock?

This is something that has annoyed me for years. You can find the male figure but it is SO hard to find the females. Granted Marvel Legends do have a large selection of figures, finding the females seems harder than it should be. Even with Transformer toys it's hard to find fembots. I get boys toys appeal to boys but as a collector, it's frustrating. I would gladly buy a Jessica Jones Marvel Legends figure just as quickly as I would buy Daredevil or Luke Cage. (which I do have just not netflix

Again, I get Hasbro has to do what sells but why not take a risk and see if you can nab that young female market as well as the young male and older collectors. Just because girls have Barbie, it doesn't mean they can't have Black Widow, or Scarlet Witch or Jessica Jones.
