Hot or Not: Peng Lin

09.01.2015by: Cherry Liquor

If you've ever loved Emma Watson, it appears that you'll always love Emma Watson, at least judging by the responses from last week. Now, I used to be able to say that I'd always love John Cusack, based mainly on my affection for him in movies such as SAY ANYTHING. If there was an excellent '80's movie, John was in the cast. Now, with DRAGON BLADE, opening in limited release this week, I'm given reason to pause. A period action piece starring Cusack, Jackie Chan and Adrien Brody? And it's not billed as a comedy? I dunno, dude... As for the female lead in the film, I think I might.

Peng Lin

I know Peng Lin from absolutely nothing. I can't talk about her career and based on my initial reaction to seeing the movie DRAGON BLADE as a concept, well, I can't say I'm going to rush and rectify that. This is Lin's sixth movie and despite all illusions you might have about me being well versed in Chinese cinema, alas, I am not. No, not even LITTLE BIG SOLDIER, the first film she did with Chan back in 2010.

Here's what I can tell you about Lin. When The whole reason I decided to feature her this week is because I went looking to see if there were good images of her available, so I could take value of her potential in this column. What a darling young woman, is what I discovered. Slim, pale, with warm, welcoming eyes. I was instantly drawn in. She reminds me of a young, Chinese Emmy Rossum. And you know how I love me some Emmy.

Based solely on looks, both from candid images, red carpet events and photoshopped photoshoots, I'm going to give Peng Lin a big thumbs up in the hot department. Once I figure out the level of her acting talent or catch wind of her personality, I might change my mind. But for now, big fan.

What do you think of Peng Lin?
