Battle of the Babes #179: Three Hottieteers Battle

10.20.2011by: Cherry Liquor

Every week I pick three babes that have some tenuous connecting factor and pit them against each other for your personal amusement. This week, what might possibly be the 179th movie version of THE THREE MUSKETEERS is getting released. Not a big coincidence, but I figured it would give me a good excuse to battle up three options that included three Hottieteers apiece. Sound good to you?

Most people knew nothing much about America Olivo, Julia Voth and Erin Cummings when this titillating throw back to Russ Meyer was released in 2009. None have gone onto become the next big thing (although Cummings had a reoccurring role on the popular "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" and was previously in a movie called ROLLING that my buddy Jason Seitz was in - shout out!). The flick itself was silly, campy fun with no chance of winning any awards, but those women... those were some of the hottest women tripled up together in a long time.

Not the first television version of the group and not the second current version either but the splashy music video style trio of Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu in the 2000 theatrical version and 2003 sequel. McG might have rubbed a lot of people the wrong way with his stylings but he knew how to cast (not just the women either, Crispin Glover and Bill Murray were real coups to collect) and how to spotlight his talent. Tell me Diaz looked better than when she danced around in her adult Underoos.

Every place you go, plastic is accepted. Probably no more so than in high school or the movies. Prefame Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried with a grown up version of little "Party of Five" sister Lacey Chabert might have been the backup dancers to what was supposed to be LiLo's career highlight, but these days, they're the best things to remember about the flick, not to mention the most successful from its outcome. Regina George, may you forever enjoy your Meanest Movie High School Girl crown.

Pick your favorite threesome of the bunch, if you dare.

Extra Tidbit: I was hoping that my favorite from last week's battle, Imogen Poots, would do as good as she could against fanboy favorite MEW, but I was still happily surprised that she pulled in a decent 29% of the total votes. She was still trounced by Winstead, who won with 58% and left Katie Holmes nearly shut out with 13%.
